According to the diplomat, as far as he understood from the information available to him, Trump agreed to hold a personal meeting with Zelensky only if an investigation was conducted in Ukraine against the Burisma company, in which Hunter Biden worked.
“By mid-July, it became clear to me that the condition for the meeting (with Trump. - RT ), which President Zelensky sought, was an investigation of the Burisma company and Ukraine’s alleged interference in the 2016 US elections,” the document says.
According to him, it was assumed that Zelensky would even give an interview to CNN, where the necessary words would be heard, otherwise, as the diplomat understood, the United States would suspend the allocation of assistance to Kiev.
Taylor also stated that former US Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Walker, US Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland, Energy Secretary Rick Perry and President’s Personal Attorney Rudi Giuliani were part of the “informal channel of US policy in Ukraine.”
Earlier, the former US ambassador to Ukraine Mary Jovanovic arrived in Congress to testify as part of the impeachment procedure trump. According to her, the American president personally sought her resignation.
