October 20, 2019An American federal prosecutor, who was investigating child trafficking on a paradise island in Micronesia, was shot to the head while preparing dinner in the kitchen for her husband and the girl he was adopting.

The murder, which took place last week, was relaunched today by American media that revealed how the woman, Rachelle Bergeron, 33, a global activist against child trafficking, lived in fear of being killed to the point of sleeping with a machete under the pillow.

The murder shocked the small island of Yap, in the Pacific, where the attorney, who had arrived for four years, was considered an uncomfortable character.
