The young woman was brought to Sweden in 2018 and exploited for prostitution by traffickers in Uppsala and Stockholm.

When the police snapped up this, about SEK 100,000 was seized. In a unique verdict, a man was convicted of negligent rape under the new Sex Offenses Act because he knew the woman was a victim of human trafficking. Two men were also convicted of trafficking in the case and about 15 men were convicted of having bought six of the woman.

The judgment was appealed, including by the woman, who, through her lawyer, demanded to get back the money she earned.

There are no reasons

The Prosecutor General considered that HD would try the issue, since it is not illegal to sell sex and that the state would otherwise "laugh at the fact that the woman was forced to sell sex".

But HD does not want to take up the matter. Thus, the court's ruling is upheld and the money accrues to the state.

HD justifies the decision that there are no grounds for a trial permit. To admit it is required that the case can be a guide for future legal applications.
