Initially, the twitter account @YB_Sodermalm was run by Viktor Adolphson and his colleague. Today, Viktor himself manages the country's most famous police account on Twitter, which requires about two hours of administration each day, on and off work hours.
- A common objection is that we should stop tweeting and start working, but I do tweet when the service allows. It is a fast forum and you reach the media houses you also reach the citizens, he says.
Despite the fact that the account is over-debated, it is not possible to close the spread of the posts from it. According to the Media Academy's recent barometer, the account is ranked as the 16th most powerful on Twitter in Sweden.
But the account has also been criticized over the years, among other things, for joking about victims and the easily offended public.
What do you think about when things go wrong?
- That it is difficult to use humor in a way that people do not take up badly. These are serious things we deal with and then you must not appear judgmental, it becomes purely counterproductive.
Today you have over 160,000 followers, what does the account have for the future?
- It depends on how long Twitter is considered a relevant channel and how long I am considered relevant to the channel.
