Over the past week, SVT has reported a widespread lack of medical supplies in several places in the country. This has led to over 100 operations having to be canceled.

It is the pharmacy company that supplies material in the affected regions in the affected regions. Only now does the company explain why they have not been able to deliver what they promised. This is after the newspaper Aftonbladet looked right at the company's spokesperson in Apotekstjänst distribution room in an industrial area in Uppsala.

More orders than expected

- About 30 percent more orders came in the first day than we could have predicted, says Apotekstjänst spokesperson Eric Aronson to Aftonbladet.

He says that more orders have been received than in the agreement signed.

In the interview, he assures that the company has both the experience and the logistical capacity to fulfill the assignment. Aronson also explains that the manual picking of the deliveries delays the orders. He also says that the company's focus now is to catch up with the deliveries and that after that you will find out what went wrong.

He tells Aftonbladet that Apotekstjänst regrets what happened.

Additional operations may be canceled

The regions Uppsala, Örebro, Västmanland, Dalarna and Sörmland changed the supplier of medical supplies to the Pharmacy Service on October 1, and already the first few days the problems began, something SVT reported earlier.

In addition to the 100 operations that have already been canceled, at least 75 planned operations are expected to be canceled from Monday.
