When a person with a severe disability works, the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare conducts surveys on working conditions of persons with disabilities at business establishments nationwide in order to review the system. And showed the idea of collecting the survey results during the next month.
Most of the care services for people with severe disabilities are covered by public expenses, but when users work, assistance for commuting and working is not covered by public expenses.
On this afternoon, the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Kato told reporters in Tokyo on the afternoon of the 18th that "I want to start by examining the actual situation and give an answer with a sense of speed." I showed an idea.
The survey will be conducted starting this week at approximately 7,500 offices nationwide that provide home-visit care services, listening to information on working conditions and needs of persons with disabilities, and summarizing the results within the next month.
Mr. Kato stated that he would like to conclude as soon as possible based on the results.
Concerning this issue, members of Reishin Shinsengumi are also requesting a review of the system to add commuting and working assistance to the public expense in order to encourage social participation of persons with disabilities.
