The human rights organization writes in the press release that they collected testimonies from 17 people between October 12 and 16, including health care professionals, internally displaced persons, aid workers and journalists. They should also have analyzed and verified video films, as well as reviewed medical reports and other documentation.

According to Amnesty International, the compilation provides evidence of abuses carried out by Turkish forces and their allies in the area. The war crimes include, according to the organization, summary executions and illegal attacks on civilian targets.

"Showed complete recklessness"

"Turkish military forces and their allies have shown complete ruthlessness against civilian lives and carried out illegal fatal attacks in residential areas that have killed and injured civilians," said Kumi Naidoo, secretary general of Amnesty International, in the press release.

The organization also writes that members of a Syrian rebel group supported by Turkey are behind the murder of Syrian-Kurdish politician Hevrin Khalaf.

"Turkey is responsible for the actions of Syrian armed groups that they support, arm and lead," says Kumi Naidoo.

The press release also describes testimonies of attacks that hit and killed children.

Kurdish forces also receive criticism

Amnesty International calls on all countries exporting weapons to both Turkey and other parties to the conflict in Syria to immediately suspend the export of weapons that can be used to commit or facilitate human rights violations.

It also applies to Kurdish forces against whom "there are credible allegations of serious violations of international law," the organization writes. Kurdish forces are also being criticized for "illegal attacks" on civilian targets in Turkey.
