Relief for advocates of the right to abortion. Moroccan King Mohammed VI has pardoned journalist Hajar Raissouni, who was recently sentenced to one year in prison for "illegal abortion" and "sex outside marriage," according to an official statement released on Wednesday (October 16th).

The 28-year-old woman was to be released "in the coming hours", along with her fiance and the gynecologist, anesthetist and medical secretary who had been sentenced with her, a government source told AFP .
