According to Kasko, criminal cases related to the investigation of events during the period of mass protests ("Maidan") in 2014 will be referred to the State Security Bureau, NABU, SBR and the National Police of Ukraine until November 20. This is due to the end of the powers of the investigation by the Prosecutor General.

“These cases should go to NABU. This process has already begun, there is a schedule for the transfer of production, they are audited and transferred under jurisdiction, ”Kasko said.

He emphasized that the Prosecutor General’s Office is planning to create a special department for the procedural management of the Maidan’s affairs.

Kasko noted that the "Maidan" cases are "a category of crimes investigated by the State Security Service," but the Special Investigations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office "treats them a little differently," including also a bunch of economic cases against former officials.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the ex-president of the country, Petro Poroshenko, is considering the possibility of becoming the leader of the new Maidan.
