The Tunisian Electoral Commission announced that Qais Said won the presidential election by 72.1% of the votes in the second round of the presidential elections in the country on Sunday.

The electoral commission said in an official statement that Nebel Karoui, who competed with Qais Said in that round received 27% of the vote.

Hours before the results were officially announced, the villager acknowledged his loss in the election and congratulated the winning candidate.

According to opinion polls conducted by the Foundation "Amrod" announced the victory of Qais Said (61 years) with 72.5% of the total votes, compared to 27.5% for candidate Nabil Karoui (56 years), head of the heart of Tunisia in the runoff of the presidential elections.

Thousands of people gathered to celebrate, waving Tunisian flags and pictures of Qais Said, firing fireworks and chanting pro-Said slogans, while motorists reacted to them by launching trumpets.

In a similar scene, citizens blocked the streets in most provinces, especially those that witnessed a revolutionary movement in the January 14 revolution, such as Kasserine and Sidi Bouzid, expressing their happiness at the arrival of Said to the Carthage Chair.
