Usman Abid and Ghadir Mustafa study at the engineering program with specialization in mechanical engineering and have worked on the project done in collaboration with Blue Science park and the Marine Museum. The result was a 3D model of the ship Wasa from the year 1778.

- You can use the model you have on your computer to, for example, show the ship in VR environments that we have done. You can actually walk around the boat on a 1: 1 scale. It really feels like you're standing on the boat and walking around in it, Ghadir Mustafa, a student.

The students have created both a digital model of the ship and a physical 3D model. With this technique, a historical object or work of art can be replicated, and then studied by scientists - instead of the original.

- You can scan different businesses, such as factories, to see how you can plan a new factory. It can also be used in, for example, the construction industry and in medical technology, says Ghadir Mustafa

The model has been recognized and exhibited, among other things, at Sweden's Innovation Kingdom Day this spring in Karlskrona. On Wednesday, they give a lecture at the Marine Museum about their work.
