Thousands of crocuses are planted - Mörbylånga will turn 200 next year

To their aid they have had a large drilling machine.

- Because if so many crocuses are to be dug down, it will be difficult if it is to be done by hand, says Sandra Brunsberg, who is one of those who has worked with the planting.

Next year, Mörbylånga will be 200 years old and the bulbs buried in the square will be buried in the formations of the year 2020. The first two digits were completed during the day.

- Next weekend we make a number and the weekend after that we make the last one, says Eva Engström, taking a break from drilling holes in the ground with the large drilling machine.

In total, the municipality of Mörbylånga will have 130,000 crocuses planted to celebrate the 200th anniversary.

- But they will be planted mechanically, says Sandra Brunsberg.

In April next year, thousands and again thousands of crocuses will bloom around Mörbylånga municipality.

- It will be a nice memory for us who live here, says Sandra Brunsberg.
