Natalia Kononova, press officer of the Russian Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, said that rescuers continue the search and rescue operation after the crash of the An-72 aircraft, which was piloted by two Russians.

“Until now, search and rescue operations are underway by the authorities of the DRC, as well as the Defense Ministry of the DRC. Therefore, it is too early to voice any results. The only thing the embassy knows is that there were two Russian citizens on board the plane. We published their names. But since the work is underway, it is still too early to talk about anything, ”she told RT.

The embassy also did not exclude that other Russian citizens could be on board the aircraft.

Earlier, the embassy reported that on board the cargo plane An-72, crashed in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, there were two Russians. Both of them were pilots.
