It is a cold evening in Umeå, about 12-15 minus degrees when the nurse on January 23 takes the dog for a walk. Pretty soon she responds to a person who behaves unusually.

- It was about ten, half past eleven. There comes a younger man whom I see in profile. He goes in a strange place to me. I look for the man and see only his back. He looks like he is wearing a jacket. Looks like he has a vest underneath. I find it strange to undress because it's cold. I have a down jacket on me.

She doesn't think much more about it but takes the dog on. A little further up the street she sees three men. One is sitting on the ground, one half-lying and one walking around confused.

- I get a feeling that something has happened. Maybe someone has slipped on something, but dare not really go ahead himself, the witness says.

Has blood in the face

She goes home, fetches her husband and together they head back to help.

- A man comes up to us who is upset. Hard to hear what he's saying. The man circulating around the place tears in his clothes as he walks. Sometimes he goes to the two on the ground, sometimes to us. One on the ground says they were shot. The one who walks around has blood on his face, but he is constantly moving, the witness says.

In the district court, the cry builds up in her throat. She barely even gets the word out at times.

- When I get a little closer, one of the men points to the garage door. It turns out that someone is dead. I never dare go forward.

The right questions if she needs to take a break.

- No, it's going well, says the witness.

At the table next to him sits the suspected perpetrator. She gets asked if she recognizes him, but she doesn't say that.
