11 October 2019The Court of Appeal of Perugia acquitted the doctors Vito Molfese, Manlio Porcellini, Ernesto Sabatini, accused of manslaughter for the death of the player of Livorno Piermario Morosini, struck down by an illness at 26, on 14 April 2012 at the stadium Adriatico-Cornacchia, during the match against the biancazzurri.

That day, the "Moro" collapsed on the ground at 29 'of the first half, while the Serie B match between the biancazzurri and Livorno was underway.

The affair was examined by the Umbrian judges after the Cassation in April last year had canceled with postponement the sentences issued in February 2018 by the Court of Appeal of L'Aquila against the three doctors, arranging a new trial. Molfese had been sentenced to one year in prison, while Porcellini and Sabatini were each sentenced to eight months.
