by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 28 September 2019Silence by Giorgia Meloni, who decides not to respond in the first person to the words of Silvio Berlusconi who, from the stage of the Teatro Manzoni in Milan, claiming the centrality of Forza Italia in the center-right said: "League and fascists do not win without Forza Italia ".

Stefano Maullu, a member of the party's National Executive, speaks: "I read with sadness Silvio Berlusconi's statements that today in Milan at a conference on pensions he defines his allies as fascists, as he instrumentally makes the sinister and more obtuse left that has always fought , offending a history of values and people who have given so much to democratic Italy with commitment and sacrifice ".

The Fdi MEP continues: "With these words (Berlusconi) has shown that he does not understand how the Italian political landscape has changed and is changing: Fratelli d'Italia and Giorgia Meloni represent a great inter-class movement capable today of truly defending national interests in the global world, a modern, open, mature right that looks to the future and not to the past with courage, content and a sense of responsibility, a right that has nothing to do with anti-democratic drifts ".

Maullu concludes: "It is regrettable that these words come precisely from Berlusconi, who in the past has amply demonstrated political sensitivity and very different analytical skills".
