During Thursday, many people joined the Swedish Transport Administration's construction sites around the country for a quiet minute.

The silence was kept in honor of those colleagues who had been injured or had suffered serious accidents.

"We are doing this because our industry is traditionally affected by really serious accidents and this is something we do not accept," says Per Ling-Vannerus, who is the director of large projects at the Swedish Transport Administration.

The work stopped for 15 minutes

For 15 minutes, the work stopped, so-called Stand down, in many places that participated in the manifestation for safety and work environment. Among other things in central Gothenburg where the West Link is being built.

Does a manifestation against fatal accidents help?

- I think so, because we are reminded of the value of this. Then everyone has to take it with them and act in everyday life.
