Stockholm (AFP) The Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who founded the worldwide movement Fridays for Future, will be awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize this year. The 16-year-old had "made the political demand for urgent climate protection measures heard worldwide," the Stockholm-based Right-Livelihood Foundation announced on Wednesday. In addition to Thunberg, the award is given to representatives of indigenous peoples in Brazil, a women's rights advocate from China and a human rights activist from Western Sahara.
