The Palestinian Human Rights Foundation (Shahid) issued a detailed report on Palestinian and Jordanian detainees held by the Saudi authorities, saying that dozens of detainees suffer from extremely poor humanitarian conditions and are subjected to various forms of physical and psychological torture.

According to Shahid, the human rights organization in charge of defending human rights in general and the Palestinian in particular, based in Beirut, the Saudi State Security Service is conducting a large-scale arrests campaign against dozens of Palestinians and Jordanians living in the Kingdom for decades, on the back of some of them providing financial assistance to the families of martyrs and prisoners in the Gaza Strip. The West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, as reported by the detainees.

The Foundation called on the Saudi authorities to immediately release and compensate all those arrested without clear charges, and called on international organizations to take urgent action to put pressure on the Saudi authorities, who practice the most horrible psychological and physical torture on the detainees.

It also called on the President of the Palestinian Authority and the King of Jordan to intervene urgently with the Saudi authorities to stop this human suffering and release the detainees.

In its report, it added that it was lingering in announcing the results of the arrests campaign due to the lack of information on the one hand and the reluctance of some families of detainees to give their testimonies on the other hand for fear of retaliation by the Saudi authorities, despite the intensive launch last February.

She said that she announced to the Palestinian public opinion in particular, Arab and international in general, a preliminary list of the names of the detainees and the conditions of their detention, after painstaking efforts in research and documentation and continued for months.
