21 June 2019A 35-year-old worker died in a hospital in Monza after being crushed by a large metal pipe that was suspended by a crane and fell on his chest while working at the Trater of Nova Milanese near Monza, a leading company in Italy in the field of heat treatments for the chemical sector and where up to now no accidents have occurred at work. Christian Catalano, a resident of Desio, was first rescued by his colleagues and then by 118 operators.

The dynamic yet to be ascertained
It still isn't clear what happened. The Carabinieri of Desio and the technicians of the labor inspectorate are investigating to ascertain the facts, to understand if all the security measures were in force between the departments. Unfortunately, there was nothing for the worker to do. The doctors of 118, arrived in Nova Milanese with the helicopter, practiced cardiac massage, but were unable to reactivate the heartbeat. After being hit by a pipe, the worker fell to the ground, unconscious. His colleagues were the first to help him. They always asked for help and activated the rescue machine. Cardiac massage was also practiced tirelessly in the ambulance ready to leave but for the 35-year-old there was nothing to do.

Another victim in Gioia Tauro

Accident in Cuneo
