Veteran back Joe Johnson, 38, and seven-time All-Star, will return to the NBA for an 18th season with the Detroit Pistons, who hired him Thursday.

With an average of 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3.9 assists, Johnson enters the eighth franchise of his career after the Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets.

Without a club for a year, he has proven that he had beautiful remains in the Big3, a three-on-three basketball league, created by the rapper Ice Cube and which brings together former glories of the NBA.

Johnson finished MVP in this 12-team competition, averaging 21.9 points and 3.9 assists, which helped the Triplets win and convinced the Pistons that he could certainly still serve.

He comes to reinforce a team featuring French winger Sekou Doumbouya, drafted in 15th position in June.
