“Western sanctions are imperfect and it is becoming increasingly difficult for our Western partners to support them, nevertheless they harm the Russian economy,” Pristayko said.

He also recalled the restoration of the powers of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and in calls for the return of Moscow to the G8 format.

Pristayko said earlier that a thaw had occurred in relations between Russia and Ukraine.
