• Venezuela.Guaidó says that the negotiation process with Maduro "ran out"

Nicolás Maduro had his ace up his sleeve . On Sunday night, the president of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, announced that the negotiation with the government sponsored by Norway had been exhausted and just hours later, this Monday, senior officials of the regime laid the foundations for a new negotiation with leaders of opposition that are not part of the main opposition alliance, and that are comfortable for Chavismo.

The Yellow House, former headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, was the scene in which the Agreement of the National Dialogue Table was initiated, the new letter from Maduro to save time after the failure of the meetings in Barbados.

The Guaidó office, recognized as president in charge of more than 50 countries, published a statement on Sunday stating that negotiations to give an electoral solution to the country's political and economic crisis had been exhausted. "The dictatorial regime of Nicolás Maduro abandoned the negotiation process with fallacious excuses: after more than 40 days in which they have refused to continue in it, we confirm that the Barbados mechanism was exhausted," the statement said.

With this it would be the second attempt of dialogue that fails this year , because the one who tried to lead the Contact Group of the European Union also did not get free and democratic elections. The diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela and also the Apostolic Nuncio representing the Vatican attended the Yellow House. EU representatives withdrew from the act.

Deputy Timoteo Zambrano , a close friend of former President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, spoke on behalf of the "opposition." "We decided to take a step forward to recover lost time," he said at the beginning of the meeting. Zambrano said that he has been "an opponent of the Government for several decades, but that he was opposed to the force", thus justifying his adherence to this pact, rejected by the majority of the opposition. In addition to Zambrano, the leaders Claudio Fermín, Felipe Mújica, Luis Romero, and Rafael Marín attended.

The new pact seeks a return to the National Assembly of the deputies of the ruling Socialist Party and the appointment of a new National Electoral Council.

At a press conference, Guaidó warned that the National Dialogue Board will worsen the crisis and considered it an excuse for Chavismo not to return to the talks that were suspended in August, when the delegation sent by Maduro rose from the table after the blockade of U.S. "Do not look for alternatives that lead to greater crisis, international isolation, nobody trusts that, there is no confidence in this regime," said Guaidó.

The parliamentary chief recalled that one of the proposals in these meetings in Barbados was the formation of a transitional government council , made up of the Armed Forces and political forces. "We must prepare for a new stage of struggle that will require greater commitment, strength, sacrifice and conviction of all," Guaidó said in his statement.
