The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) has just been seized by the prosecutor's office of Gers to investigate the use of a firearm by a police officer during a chase deadly.

The facts occurred in the afternoon of Friday, September 13 near Auch. Followed since yesterday by the police, three young men aged 17 to 20 are trying to escape the police on a small road in the town of Pavia near Auch.

According to Charlotte Beluet, the prosecutor of the Gers, their vehicle " allegedly hit a police officer, who then used his weapon ". The car came off the road and after several barrels, she finished her race in a field. On board, a 17-year-old man of Georgian origin is found dead.

The IGPN in charge of the investigation

None of the elements of the investigation allows for the moment to determine the exact causes of his death. It is now the IGPN that will have to clear this case.

Meanwhile, the district of the Grand Garros in Auch, where two of the fugitives lived, experienced two nights of violence including burned cars and bus shelters destroyed.

An autopsy of the deceased young man will take place this Monday, September 16th. It will undoubtedly help advance the investigation.
