Twice previously, the couple has booked the church at Sturkö, without any wedding being attended to. Various decisions in the proceedings against the Swedish Tax Agency and the Migration Agency have hindered the couple's common dream.

- One day we will stand there as married. That's it, Ulla Simonsson told SVT News Blekinge in February this year.

Now the dream has come true.

Takes each other's last name

During the ceremony, Sturkö church was decorated with bright roses. The same flowers that the 79-year-old bride carried in her bridal bouquet. She was dressed in a long blue dress and a white little jacket over her shoulders. Hamzeh wore a dark suit and they both bought their wedding clothes as early as 2015.

- We have been ready for this for a long time, says Ulla Simonsson, who is now also called Dalis in last name.

- I'm so proud of my husband, he's an amazing person. That's why I felt I wanted to take his name, she says.

It is exactly four years since the couple first applied for a disability test. When it was granted after the third attempt, it became rapid wedding preparations.

- After waiting for four years, we didn't want to wait that long.

Now they are husband and wife.

- It feels so natural.

Must enjoy each other

After the wedding ceremony, all 53 guests were welcomed home to the couple's home on Sturkö, where they have been there for a long time.

- None of the guests is a relative of us, but all are good friends who have supported us through everything, says Ulla Simonsson Dalis.

If there is any honeymoon, the spouses do not know yet. Possibly it will be a honeymoon later on.

- We'll probably just take in everything we've experienced. We probably need to take it easy and relax. Now we just enjoy life and each other.
