Gref said that Russia needs officials of a "different quality"

Gref noted that the number of officials in Russia in the year 2000 amounted to 1.156 million, and at present - 2.2 million.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov, in turn, said that a reduction in the number of officials is expected next year.

“We are already realizing your promise. Next year we will reduce it, ”Siluanov said.

At the same time, Gref opposed the reduction in the number of officials, calling for "change the model" when "the car will be effective."

“And it will be possible to do absolutely amazing things ... The number of officials is clearly excessive, but we need other officials, officials of a different quality,” he said.

In March, at the Leaders of Russia forum, journalists asked Gref to name the three main Russia.

Gref replied that most of all the state suffers from the lack of an effective system of government.

The head of the Russian Audit Chamber, Alexei Kudrin, noted that digitalization will lead to a reduction in the number of Russian officials.

As Russian President Vladimir Putinins emphasized, there should be a special demand for officials, since they have a special responsibility to people.
