The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has acquired the site of the National Children's Facility “Children's Castle” which was closed four years ago from the country for 52.5 billion yen. With the policy of using it as a base for lifelong learning and sports, we plan to formulate a basic repair plan for specific use during the current fiscal year.

"Children's Castle" is a national children's facility located in Shibuya Ward, closed in 2015 four years ago due to aging, etc., but the building is still intact.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has agreed to purchase from the country for 52.5 billion yen in order to utilize the building and land of the children's castle, and signed a sales contract on the 10th.

The capital initially expected the purchase amount to be 60.3 billion yen, but as a result of real estate appraisal, it was 7.8 billion yen less than expected.

The Metropolitan Government has a basic plan for renovation for concrete use with the policy of using it as a base for lifelong learning, sports, founding support, etc., while leaving the function as a facility for theaters and children on the site of the children's castle It will be decided during this fiscal year.

The city plans to use this site as a waiting area for staff during the next year's Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and will begin renovation work this month.
