All committees in Falkenberg Municipality have been commissioned to produce proposals for operational adjustments that will reduce expenses so that the municipality can meet future costs.

For the committees, this amounts to 2 per cent of the budget for 2020.

- We have produced proposals that we will now present to the board, says school principal Stigert Petersson.

Savings proposal of 22.8 million

The measures are about reductions in school operations, which is equivalent to SEK 22.8 million. But Stigert Pettersson does not currently want to say what proposals he is putting on the table.

- The municipality has chosen to have a joint communication with all committees next Friday. I will not go into any suggestions from the administration, says Stigert Pettersson.

He emphasizes that so far it is only about proposals. Before deciding, the question should be raised to a higher level and he does not want to speculate on how large reductions will ultimately be made in 2020 within Falkenberg's school operations.

Earlier this year, the Board for Children and Education clubbed through savings within the school, which corresponds to around SEK 12 million in 2019. Also in 2021 there are requirements for proposals for cuts, which then correspond to 1 percent of the budget.
