During a planned test run of the reserve power at Halland Hospital Varberg on Tuesday, it turned out that the reserve power was out of order.

As a result, all operations had to be canceled and intensive troubleshooting was ongoing throughout Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, the hospital still does not know what the system failure is due to and even operations that are scheduled during Wednesday are canceled, if they are not deemed to be emergency, Anna Stålnacke, head of communications for local health care in Region Halland, announces.

The hospital has now ordered mobile backup power units that will be able to cover pending the system's fix. If a power failure occurs when the backup power is out of operation, there is a battery backup that can keep the hospital functioning for an hour.

However, the normal power supply works as it should and neither the emergency nor the maternity ward is affected.
