The portrait stands in the square in Fisksätra. A white-clad Ndella Jack smiles back from the pictures bathing in flowers and candles. And it is with light and warmth that she is described by friends and family. As a positive and outgoing girl who was something of a profile in the area.

- Ndella was a calm and happy person. She liked everyone and also wanted to take care of everyone. She wanted to help the young people who ended up in crime, says her mother Oulimata Ba.

Managed in apartment in Råcksta

It was the night of August 28 that an apartment in Råcksta in Vällingby was fired by automatic weapons. Inside the apartment were, among other 18-year-old Ndella Jack. Ndella talked to a friend on the phone when the gunfire started and it was her friend who called the ambulance to the scene. But her life could not be saved.

Mother Oulimata Ba tells of the night that would forever change her life.

- At half past two at night, a friend came to my house and asked where Ndella was. I told her she was with her new husband. Then he tells me that something terrible had happened, says the mother.

Had recently married

One week before the shooting, 18-year-old Ndella Jack had married in Gambia. Her husband is 33 years old and has previously been convicted of serious crimes. He had recently served a longer prison sentence. The mother says that the daughter's decision came as a big surprise to the family.

- She came to me and told me that she wanted to go to Gambia. She went there with her future husband. I was unsure of that relationship. I didn't really know who he was, says Oulimata Ba.

According to the mother, the shots must have been meant for the man she recently married.

- She was in the wrong place, she says.

- A lot of work is needed to turn this around. It won't be easy. The police need to keep track of everyone who is linked to gang crime, says the mother.
