The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has received a written message from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, conveyed by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, personal representative of the Emir of Qatar.
The Emir of Kuwait received the Qatari guest in Dar Salwa before leaving for the United States, on a visit during which he is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump on Thursday 12 September.
The Qatari message comes in response to the recent letter received by Sheikh Tamim from Sheikh Sabah, which observers noted was related to Kuwaiti mediation efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis.
The Kuwaiti message was conveyed to Doha last Thursday by Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, who attended the meeting today along with a number of Kuwaiti officials, including Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled.
The meeting was attended by a number of Qatari officials, headed by Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Al-Ghanim's message came after a verbal message conveyed by Saudi Minister of State and Member of the Saudi Council of Ministers Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Saud from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Emir of Kuwait.
