September 02, 2019 "In the last few weeks, the odds of an agreement have increased," said British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in his speech after a cabinet meeting on Brexit. "We will reach an agreement by the deadline," he added. "I am encouraged by the progress we are making" on Brexit, "in the last few weeks the chances of an agreement have increased" because in Brussels "they see that we want an agreement, that we have a clear future vision", that "we are determined to prepare for the no deal ".

Boris Johnson added that if conservative MPs vote tomorrow (Tuesday, ed) to rule out the "no deal" they would "cut off their legs" at his negotiating position. The British premier has therefore confirmed "not wanting to postpone the deadline for the Brexit", set for October 31st. The British prime minister then called for "supporting the government and not the useless delay of Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn", adding that "there are no circumstances in which he will ask Brussels for a postponement". Johnson also stressed that he "didn't want the elections" in advance. "I don't want them if you don't want them," he said.
