Pope Francis has revealed that he has been trapped this Sunday for about 25 minutes in the elevator of the Apostolic Palace while he went to the window from where the Angelus prays every Sunday and firefighters have had to intervene.

Francisco has looked out the window of the study of the Apostolic Palace with a delay of 10 minutes compared to noon when the Pope gives a small catechesis promptly and prays the Angelus before the faithful concentrated in St. Peter's Square .

Before starting, the Argentine pontiff has apologized for the delay and explained smiling that he had been trapped in the elevator for 25 minutes and that they had to call the fire department. "There was a drop in electricity and I got stuck in the elevator. Then the firemen came and after 25 minutes of work I was able to leave. An applause to the firemen ," Francisco said.

After the Angelus, the Pope recalled that today the Church celebrates the Day for prayer for the protection of Creation and has asked for "a more sustainable personal and family lifestyle" and "assumption of responsibility in the face of the cry of the Earth ". He has also asked for prayers on the occasion of his next trip, from September 4 to 10, to Madagascar , Mozambique and Mauritius so that this visit "can have the desired fruits."
