A tribute to the women killed by their companion or former companion since the beginning of the year was made Wednesday on the forecourt of the City Hall of Paris, with the names of 97 victims unveiled on the facade of the monument.

At this gathering of about 300 people, the actress Eva Darlan ginned the names of the victims and apostrophé the executive who will launch next week a Grenelle of violence against women.

"The Grenelle is a way of doing nothing, we are in a state of emergency, we know how to stop this hecatomb, just apply the laws," hammered the actress.

"It is outlaw for a police officer to refuse to take a complaint, deadly for a magistrate to file a file without further action, unworthy of a state not to shelter women and children who need protection", a- she insisted claiming a budget of "one billion euros".

The father of one of the victims, Lucien Douib, whose daughter Julie was killed in early March in Corsica by his ex-spouse, called on the government to "make decisions very quickly" to stop "an epidemic".

Femen activists also intervened to call on justice ministers Nicole Belloubet and Interior Christophe Castaner, as well as Emmanuel Macron.

Present at the demonstration, the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo (PS) said that the city would participate in the "Grenelle" and called on the government "not to simply do communication".

She announced the opening on August 31 Porte de Bagnolet of a new day care center for young women aged 15 to 25 who were victims of violence while stressing "that we would need many other places to stay ".

The "Grenelle of Domestic Violence", which will last almost three months from September 3 to November 25, "will lead to a commitment of the Prime Minister and announcements very strong," promised Wednesday on BFMTV Secretary of State to Gender Equality Marlène Schiappa, deploring the fact that the balance of feminicides recorded since the beginning of the year amounts to "97 currently".

In 2018, 121 women were killed in domestic violence.
