Australian Nick Kyrgios softened his criticisms of ATP on Wednesday, initially described as "corrupt", but he remains under investigation by the professional tennis authorities.

"Anyway, the ATP is pretty corrupt, I'm not frustrated at all," he said after his match in the first round of the US Open in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, about the $ 113,000 record fine he was fined for his angry behavior in Cincinnati.

These statements provoked a further strong reaction from ATP, which decided to open an investigation.

Shortly after, Kyrgios retracted his remarks: "I would like to formally clarify my statement about the corruption of ATP, it was not a good word choice and what I wanted to say, my intention, was to emphasize what I consider a double standard rather than corruption, "says the player on his Twitter committal.

"I know that my behavior is sometimes controversial and it has been a problem for me, sometimes it is deserved, but my problem is when others (...) behave the same way without being punished. That's my problem and it remains, "says the 24-year-old Australian.

Kyrgios was angry with Kyrgios and was out of the court in Cincinnati with two snowshoes to smash them into the locker room before returning as if nothing had happened. Except he was filmed. He had also taken the referee he had insulted.

"To be clear, I know that I am not perfect and I do not pretend to be perfect and I admit that I have sometimes deserved fines and sanctions," said Kyrgios who claims however "the consistency and "fairness" in the convictions, which "is not yet the case", according to him.
