But the girls know that the World Cup was a point of departure and not of arrival". Milena Bertolini warns the Italians on the eve of the debut in the European Championships 2021 against Israel. The fifty leading positions in the Fifa ranking (14th in Italy, 64th in Israel) suggest that all the favors of the prediction are for Italy in the Tel Aviv match (5.30pm Italian time).But Bertolini does not trust: "Tomorrow and in the next races the result will depend on the attitude we will have in the field. The women's football in Israel is growing, there is more attention and different players are gaining experience playing in foreign championships", emphasizes the blue coach. Taking home two successes in the first two trips to Israel and Georgia would mean starting down the path that leads to the continental event in England.
To do this, the National team relies on most of the girls in France (17 out of 23), a group that will have to do without the injured Barbara Bonansea but who can count on the freshness of the 6 new ones: from the Durante and Baldi goalkeepers to Panzeri Bonfantini, Caruso and Marinelli.
