Turin (dpa) - Without his new coach Maurizio Sarri, the Italian football champion Juventus Turin has started with an away win in the new Serie A season.

The team led by Portugal superstar Ronaldo prevailed at Parma Calcio 1-0 (1-0). The winner scored captain Giorgio Chiellini in the 21st minute. Sixty-year-old Sarri, who was replaced by European Champions League champion Chelsea as the replacement for Massimiliano Allegri, is recovering from pneumonia and is likely to miss his home club SSC Napoli on 31 August.

In the starting XI, Sami Khedira, who was substituted for new signing Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint-Germain) in the 63rd minute, showed the favorite a decent performance. After the lead, a Ronaldo goal in the 35th minute after video evidence was not recognized because of an offside position. Even with three other chances Ronaldo had no luck. German international Emre Can was not sitting on the bench.

Bayern legend Franck Ribéry came straight to his first outing two days after being introduced to AC Fiorentina. The 36-year-old Frenchman came on in the 78th minute, but could not avert the bitter 3: 4 (1: 2) defeat against title aspirant SSC Naples with ex-Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti.
