"Secretary of State Pompeo emphasized the unwavering commitment of the United States to NATO and the importance of the Allies fulfilling their defense investment commitments," the agency said.
The parties "also discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, and the Secretary of State thanked Canada for its continued support for international efforts to put pressure on the Maduro regime."
Pompeo said earlier that Washington considers it impossible to hold free elections in Venezuela while Nicholas Maduro is in power in that country.
