It all happened by pure chance. One of the police dog patrols had an exercise on the outskirts of Falkenberg, not far from County Road 150. Suddenly they saw something in the grass that was winding around.

- Me and my colleague got calls from the patrol. They wondered if we could help pick it up because they didn't dare to do it themselves, says Savo Bodiroza, a police officer in the municipality.

Googled how to do it

They picked up a plastic box and a broom before jumping into the car and heading to the scene. The feeling of excitement spread when neither Savo Bodiroza nor his colleague previously handled a large snake.

- We were informed that it was aggressive. We started googling how to go about catching it, he laughs.

Savo Bodiroza grabbed the snake on his tail and grabbed it just behind his head.

- You've seen how they do on TV. It was a big devil, like a single big muscle. So it fought pretty well and also opened its mouth, he says.

Boa worms are not toxic, but their bites can be very painful. Fortunately, the snake failed to put its teeth in Savo Bodiroza's hands.

Waiting for its owner

- I'm glad it didn't bite me. When it started to wrap around my arm we got it down in the box, he continues.

The approximately 1.5 meter long and one centimeter thick snake had disappeared from Sjönevad's market ten days earlier. After the capture, it was sent to a person in the neighborhood who has knowledge of reptiles pending contact with the owner.

- It was a really fun and unusual experience. We laughed a lot about it, says police Savo Bodiroza.
