20 August 2019Tension rises on board the Open Arms, from 19 days to just under a mile from Lampedusa, with the migrants on board rescued in grueling waiting for a solution. This morning, according to the founder of the Spanish NGO, Oscar Camps, a man threw himself into the water. A Coast Guard patrol boat intervened to retrieve it. Already in the previous days some migrants had made the desperate gesture in an attempt to land. Last night eight people and a companion of the 107 on board had been disembarked in consideration of their most critical health conditions. "Thus begins the 19th day of kidnapping", tweeted Camps.
