Fonda, who died in his home in Los Angeles, was the son of Henry Fonda, brother of Jane Fonda and father of actress Bridget Fonda. He received a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama and an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for the film L'oro di Ulisse (1997).
