“I welcome the day of worldwide protest against the US empire and the brutal blockade against Venezuela! I invite Venezuelans to sign a letter in defense of our independence, peace and sovereignty of our country, ”he wrote.
Maduro said earlier that he would send the UN Secretary General Anthony Guterres a letter signed by the "millions" of Venezuelans who oppose US sanctions.
He also called on the international community on August 10 to oppose the blockade of Venezuela by the United States.
