Samsung presented on Wednesday in New York the latest model of its high-end device, the Galaxy Note 10, hoping to consolidate its position as a global leader in the smartphone market in front of its competitors Huawei and Apple.

Marketed from August 23, the device will be available in two versions: the Note 10 with a screen of 16 cm, sold starting from 949 dollars, and the Note 10 + with a screen of 17 cm and a price of entry of $ 1,099.

Each version will offer a 5G option, more expensive than the basic model.

"The Galaxy Note 10 is a versatile, powerful and naturally connected product," said Drew Blackard, head of Samsung product management in the United States.

More compact and thinner than its predecessors, the device will feature a stylus, a trademark of the Note model, with enhanced capabilities, including remote control of the camera to take a picture or play videos on YouTube .

The camera has been enhanced, offering, among other things, the ability to scan 3D objects, and the battery life has been extended.

For the launch of the product, Samsung has partnered with Microsoft: users will have the opportunity to access the interface of Note 10 from their Windows PC.

Samsung has also confirmed the release date of its tablet Tab S6, which will be available August 23, and presented two additional products: a connected watch (Watch Active 2, 309 dollars) and a laptop (Book S, available in September to 999 dollars).

While global smartphone sales fell 2.6% in the second quarter, the South Korean giant has increased its market share to 22%, thanks to a 7% increase in sales of its devices, according to analyst studies released Wednesday.

While Samsung's growth has mostly been in input and mid-range models, Note 10 is one of the most expensive products offered by the computer manufacturer.
