“The DPR representative’s office in the JCCC conducted an investigation into the death of the Ukrainian armed forces, the results of which indicate the impossibility of firing from the DPR’s positions due to the discrepancy between the distance of our positions from the scene and the tactical and technical characteristics of the armament indicated by the Ukrainian side,” RIA Novosti reports.

The department noted that the Ukrainian military died as a result of careless handling of ammunition.

On the eve of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, it was reported that on August 6, as a result of two shelling of Ukrainian positions in the Donbass, four servicemen of the Armed Forces were killed.

The chief of the General Staff of the Armed forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak said that the military died as a result of a shot from a grenade launcher, "to which a 82-mm mortar mortar was screwed, which went directly into the trench, where the Armed Forces military personnel carried out engineering equipment of their positions."

On August 7, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with security officials over the deaths of four Ukrainian troops as a result of shelling in the Donbass.

Zelensky later said that he had a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to discuss the situation in the Donbass.
