The young American Cori Gauff, revelation of the last Wimbledon where she reached the round of 16 at just 15 years, won Saturday her first title on the circuit WTA doubles in Washington.

The teenager, paired with her compatriot Catherine McNally, with whom she won the US Open Junior in doubles last year, dominated in the final the Hungarian Fanny Stollar and the American Maria Sanchez 6-2, 6-2.

The two girls of 15 and 17 years jumped in their arms before giving themselves a long hug to celebrate this first title among professionals.

"Coco" Gauff made a sensational debut on the world stage at Wimbledon, where she beat her childhood idol Venus Williams in the first round and then won two more wins before being stopped by the future Simona tournament winner Halep in the 8th finals.

For her return to the circuit, the teenager from Atlanta had managed to extricate herself from qualifying last week to enter the main draw of the tournament in Washington, where she lost in the first round singles against Kazak Zarina Diyas.

Her doubles partner, Catherine McNally, reached the semi-finals of the singles tournament, where she was dominated in two sets on Saturday by Italy's Camila Giorgi.
