The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a taxi driver to nine months in prison and was convicted of harassing a passenger, stealing her handbag and gifts she had bought for her children in her home country.

The details of the incident date back to November 12, according to the Dubai Public Prosecution's investigation, which reported that the 30-year-old driver was taking the victim from Abu Dhabi to Dubai to travel to her home from Dubai International Airport. The victim, who refused to do so, forced her to pull her hair out of the car. She then went back to Abu Dhabi with her handbag, three mobile phones and 3000 dirhams in cash, and her travel bag, including clothes, shoes and gifts for her children in her home.

The victim went to the Jebel Ali police station and was unable to give her testimony for two days. She was crying all the time, from the depths of what had happened to her, which caused her a psychological shock. She then informed the police on behalf of the taxi company in which the convict was working. .

The victim was identified by the victim after she was shown photographs of a group of drivers working in the company, as she fell to her knees and withdrew when she saw the picture of the accused.

Police arrested the convicted man while trying to flee the country through Abu Dhabi International Airport, which denied the charge of sexual assault before the court, but admitted the theft.
