Florian Thauvin, who suffered a sprained ankle in OM's 4-0 loss to Glasgow on Sunday against the Rangers, will not accompany his team-mates to the United States for a preparation tournament, announced Marseille club Monday.

The 26-year-old winger twisted his right ankle alone in an overflow and had to give up on Bouna Sarr in the 25th minute in the friendly against the Rangers.

"The player will not make the trip to the US with his teammates and will stay in Marseille to follow a protocol of adapted care," said OM Monday on its website.

The Marseillais must fly Tuesday for Washington to take part in "EA Ligue 1 Games", a friendly tournament organized by the LFP, with the Girondins de Bordeaux, Montpellier and AS Saint-Etienne. The Marseillais will conclude their US trip by a last game, against DC United, July 24.
