Interviewed by "Le Parisien", Patrick Balkany's wife denies having made a suicide attempt before her trial.

On social media, she posted a photo of her first "outing" for the national holiday on Sunday night. Isabelle Balkany left the clinic where she was hospitalized while her husband was appearing for money laundering and corruption in the spring. Also implicated in this case, she did not attend any of the six weeks of hearings. Interviewed by Le Parisien , the first assistant of Levallois-Perret came back on this period.

A visit from Carla Bruni

In everyday life, Isabelle Balkany denies having made a suicide attempt. She talks about a "stigma of honor" and a "widespread opprobrium" as her trial approaches, a man who has launched "Balkany, give back money" while shopping. Ten days before the hearing, she would have taken "one tablet" of antidepressants, "two, then three, then four," writes the newspaper, before swallowing the whole box "mechanically". Patrick Balkany's wife evokes "a kind of despair".

Still according to Le Parisien , the VIP clinic in which Isabelle Balkany stayed when she left the hospital was identified by Nicolas Sarkozy, a friend of the couple. The wife of the former President, Carla Bruni, would have visited him during his convalescence.

The judgment of the Balkany couple and other defendants, including their son, is expected on 18 October.
