Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the pilot phase of the Smart Track System to examine drivers of vehicles applying for a driver's license in the emirate. The first successful test was conducted yesterday at one of the drivers' inspection centers in the presence of the Executive Director of the Licensing Agency, Driver Licensing Department Sultan Al-Akraf, and a number of management staff.

The Smart Track system is an advanced step. The TRA aims to contribute to strengthening the government's direction and supporting its efforts to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world by using the digital technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution for the first time globally, Differential positioning systems and other sensors, used in self-driving vehicles.

"We have successfully launched the Intelligent Track System pilot phase to deliver intelligent and integrated solutions in all road inspection vehicles to obtain a driving license in Dubai. 7 Strategies

RTA's Executive Director Abdullah Yousif Al Ali said that the Smart Track system is aligned with seven important strategies in the UAE in general and in Dubai in particular. These strategies are: State Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, UAE Strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Dubai Smart, LAT strategy, Internet Strategy and Digital Revolution, Dubai Data Strategy, and National Innovation Strategy.

Another goal of the system is to enhance transparency and improve the accuracy of data provided to customers through the creation of video recordings based on three-dimensional panoramic imaging techniques for use in customer feedback, grievances and complaints and to improve testers' performance.
