According to the Arctic Biodiversity Project Coordinator, Mikhail Stishov, the phenomenon is caused by climate change, reduced ice area and the behavior of people who carelessly recycle garbage.
“Now there are more bears on the shores due to the lack of ice for long periods. They come ashore, where they are attracted by human housing, especially if the garbage disposal system is not well organized there, ”he told RIA Novosti.
According to Stishov, it will not be easy to solve the problem; a group of scientists, representatives of the Rosprirodnadzor and other specialists will take care of it.
